LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking Quality Control Inspector I for an opportunity in Victor, NY.
Major purpose: Reporting to and working with the Quality Manager, the Quality Control Inspector I is responsible for inspection of electro-mechanical satellite communication assemblies and final products to defined specifications.
Major functions: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• In-process and receiving inspection of basic components to ensure compliance to L3 design and quality documentation.
• Inspect for conformance to purchasing order requirements, engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications: process standards and specifications.
• Utilize basic inspection equipment such as rulers, calipers, micrometers, thread gages, vision systems, and optical comparators to ensure component quality.
• Basic point-to-point testing of electrical and mechanical assemblies.
• Document inspection results into Quality Management System (QMS)
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: There are no supervisory responsibilities in this position.

Technical/Functional skills:
Education/Experience/Licenses etc.: REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
<p>• Associate’s degree in Technical Field preferred; or High School diploma
• A minimum of 3 years in electro-mechanical environment performing receiving or in-process inspection, testing and evaluations for adherence to specifications and standards.
• Familiar with application of standards such as IPC JSTD-001, ANSI, and ISO-9000 is a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, understand and interpret electronic schematics, drawings and documentation. Excellent communication skills required, both verbal and written.
Must be able to perform training using hands-on and classroom presentation methods to a diverse and technical audience.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to calculate ratio, percent, proportions, draw and interpret graphs.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and solve practical problems; deal with a variety of concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand, sit, walk, talk, see and hear; use hands to finger, handle and feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is that of a typical engineering design with occasional exposure to dust, vapors, heat, cold and noise.
