Service Writer
Pay: $22-$28 P/H
Shift: 9AM-4PM M-F
LAUNCH TransTechs is now seeking customer service driven service writer. Our customer service writer is responsible for writing up work orders, working with trucking companies on approvals for work, answering phone calls and creating a repeat customer base. This individual must be flexible on availability. Service Writers have a very important role as they set the tone for our customers right from the start!
The chosen service writer maintains accurate and on-time reports and records relative to the service department’s operation within the service center through opening work orders, processing warranty, invoices and Product Improvement claims, maintaining Service Department records, updating customer profiles, maintaining department accessories and inventory supplies and preparing Technician efficiency reports. Works with service manager on Monitoring trucking program.
Essential Duties of a Service Writer:
- Opens work orders as directed by the Service Manager and maintain control until closed and invoiced.
- Processes warranty claims, including computation of charges, submission, and follow-up.
- Maintains the service library with information that is current (i.e. files bulletins, manuals, videotapes, etc. under the direct supervision of the Service Manager).
- Maintains Service Department filing and records.
- Updates customer profiles using equipment, hours, or other information from the customer work orders.
- Maintains accessories and supplies together with preparing replacement orders.
- Prepares Service Technician efficiency reports.
- Fields internal and external customer inquiries to the Service Department.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of accounting practices
- Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions.
- Knowledge of office procedures
- General understanding of mechanical/technical terms is preferred, but not required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Driver's License required
