LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Facility Maintenance Mechanic for an opportunity in San Diego, CA
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- To assist in the installation, servicing and maintenance of all plant equipment.
- To perform preventative maintenance on all plant machinery and equipment to make periodic inspections.
- Must have complete knowledge of industrial mechanics and have industrial electrical (pneumatic and hydraulic) experience.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- Must know how to use and care for related test equipment.
- Must know how to operate maintenance shop equipment.
- Must possess capabilities in excess of those required of a Maintenance Helper.
- Must have a High School education or the equivalent, in addition to 3 – 5 years of specific and related experience.
- Ability to speak and listen effectively to follow instructions in English.
- Ability to write and speak complete sentences and understand verbal and written instructions in English
Functional/Technical Skills:
- Performs and/or assists in installing, servicing and maintaining in operating condition all equipment as directed.
- Make routine, periodic or special instructions to determine the necessity of the repair and maintenance of plant machinery and equipment.
- Use of manufacturers’ drawings and specifications, installation layouts and sketches to facilitate internal handling of less than major repairs.
- Must be able to weld, cut, braze and solder, as well as, operate a forklift and overhead crane.
- Must possess basic skills in carpentry, plumbing and rigging.
- Effectively assist and train others of lesser skill and/or experience.
- Regular and punctual attendance.
- Follow all Safety and Environmental Procedures.
- Must maintain accurate paperwork and records.
- Must maintain high standard of housekeeping in work area.
- Must be able to interpret and follow methods and process sheets.
- Must be able to use shop mathematics, including decimals.
- Must be able to follow directions, both written and oral, as generated by the company.
- Must be able to interpret and follow method sheets.
- Perform other duties as required. Materials generally lightweight to medium weight carried anywhere from 1 to 200 ft. Cart utilized for carrying most materials. Materials lifted floor level, waist level and overhead. Use of ladders, hoists, electrical carts and forklifts
Education/Certification:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- 5 years specific and related experience required
