LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking an Maintenance Associate II for an opportunity in Cincinatti, Ohio.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment. Typically performs work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication and welding. Conducts routine, periodic or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery and equipment. Uses hand and power tools. Tests, inspects, troubleshoots and repairs machines and equipment. Utilizes blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings and specifications.
This is a hands-on position that requires a strong ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, to perform electronics testing and analysis of complex electronic assemblies and systems. The candidate must have good hand-eye coordination for work with small tools under a microscope. The ideal candidate will have a solid working knowledge of electronics, and a strong aptitude and interest in working with automated and manual test equipment as well as the communication skills required to work with engineering, management and other technicians. The candidate must be detail oriented and have meticulous record keeping skills.
Communication skills are extremely important as this role includes working with engineering on product introduction as well as training/supporting operators in the group.
Essential Functions:
- Repairs, constructs, installs, troubleshoots and maintains routine electrical systems and equipment.
Troubleshoots electrical malfunctions, inspects circuits and wiring for shielding and grounding, and tests electrical equipment for safety and efficiency. - Utilizes blueprints, drawings, layout or other specifications, and electrical hand tools and voltage-or-amperage measuring and recording devices.
- Repairs and maintains structures and equipment in industrial and commercial establishments working from detailed blueprints, drawings and oral instructions.
- Performs rough to finished carpentry work on buildings, office partitions, benches, scaffolding, framework, platforms and trim.
- Operates tools such as electrical saws, routers, drills, lathes, borers and sanders. Makes shop computations relating to dimensions of work and selects necessary materials.
- Determines defects in, repairs, and maintains heating, water, and drainage systems in industrial or commercial establishments.
- Inspects high-pressure, air, steam, water and gas systems to ascertain malfunctions; repairs or
replaces plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, water heaters and hot water tanks; replaces washers; mends or replaces burst or leaky pipes; tests joints and pipe systems for leaks; opens clogged drains; measures, cuts, threads, bends, reams and installs pipe and pipe fittings. Uses plumber's tools such as snakes, wrenches, plungers, pipe threaders, etc. - Maintains knowledge of local codes.
- Prepares surfaces for painting; Applies coats of paint, varnish, stains, enamel or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimming, and fixtures of new and old buildings, structures and equipment of industrial or commercial establishments. Paints surfaces using brushes and paint rollers. Erects and works from scaffolding is required.
- Dismantles, moves, assembles, installs and repairs industrial machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings or verbal instructions. Moves machinery and equipment using dollies, rollers and trucks; aligns machines; performs scheduled inspection and maintenance. Sets up and operates machine tools and fabrication machinery to rework or make new parts.
- Diagnoses trouble. Repairs, alters and overhauls and re-assembles intricate mechanisms and machines. Uses common precision measuring instruments and gauges.
- Welds metal objects together by means of an oxyacetylene torch or arc welder apparatus to fabricate metal shapes or articles or to repair broken or cracked metal objects. Working from specifications, drawings, prints or welding symbols, may also lay out guidelines or marks on metal parts and may cut metal with a cutting torch.
- Direct/ assist spill control activities.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- Vocational or relevant training in at least one of the following trades: Electrical, Building/Grounds Maintenance, Mechanical or Plumbing
- 4 years’ experience in multiple areas: Electrical, Machine Repair / Mechanical, Building/Grounds maintenance or Plumbing
- Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance
