Fabrication Technician - Model

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking Technician with strongscale model maker building experience for an opportunity in Orlando, FL

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The position is a hands-on aerospace-engineering hardware-focused fabrication technician located within the Mechanical Engineering Product Development Model Shop.

The primary job responsibility is mechanical fabrication prototypes, model parts and assemblies, using Composites, Wood, Aluminum and unique materials, in support of internal customers for display, training and development.

Technician will develop, maintain, repair, and modify structural model components, Build fixturing and tooling by using advanced fabrication skills.

Technician will ensure compliance with all applicable company policies and procedures for laboratory operations. Requested tasks are verified by and evaluated with the customer and lab lead.

The selected candidate shall report directly to the Mechanical Engineering Labs Supervisor.

Qualifications and requirements:

• 4 years fabrication experience, metal, plastics, composites, and wood working.
• Experience in application of paint primers and topcoats.
• Developmental model making
• Capable of obtaining certifications to operate a pallet stacker and overhead hoist/cranes.
• Demonstrated sound writing and verbal communication skills in a teaming environment.
• Ability to interface with engineering and program personnel.
• Able to read engineering drawings. 
• Able to work flex schedule, overtime, weekends, etc.
• High School education or Equivalent.
• Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance .
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
