LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Machine Operator for an opportunity in Littleton, CO

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Sets up and operates a variety of machine tools such as lathes milling machines shapers planers and precision grinders to make metal parts mechanisms tools or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions. 

  • Interprets blueprints sketches and engineering specifications
  • Determines sequence of operations number of cuts required and method of setup
  • Uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments
  • Makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work tooling feeds and speeds
  • Measures marks and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining;
  • Fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material parts and equipment required.
  • May modify numerically controlled programs on numerically controlled (NC) machines.
  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Functional/Technical Skills:

  • Machine operator with basic machining skills
  • Experience with 3 and 5 axis machines

Requirements:

  • Typically requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience
  • Experience creating efficient CNC programs from engineering drawings and/or 3D models using MasterCAM
  • Shop level knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Align appropriate cutting tools for programmed operations
  • Knowledge of proper speeds and feeds for cutting tools and materials being cut
  • Proficient in CNC equipment setup using best shop practice
  • Capable of manually operating machine shop equipment
  • Able to work independently with little supervision
  • Knowledge of machine shop inspection tools
  • Skilled in operating manual mills and lathes
  • Knowledge of CNC Router. Experience with composite materials
  • Programming from 3D models
  • Ability to program 3D toolpaths
  • US Citizenship Required
  • 0-3 years of work experience
  • HS Diploma

Preferred Requirements:

  • Composite materials machining experience
