Estimator

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking an Aviation Estimator with commercial maintenance experience for an opportunity in Ontario, California.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Will prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
• Work as a licensed A&P mechanic when estimator duties are slow. 50% office, 50% shop floor.

Qualifications and requirements:

• 6+ years of Machine Shop Estimating/Quoting experience of medium to high complexity parts, including knowledge of setup and operation of a diverse range of machines. Estimating/Quoting experience must be with CNC Mill and Lathe operations.
• Strong experience/knowledge in reading, analyzing, and understanding technical specifications, drawings, bills of material, material and process specifications, quality documentation, and associated documentation.
• Extensive experience/knowledge of the types of tooling required for specific applications, and generalized machine shop procedures.
• Experience estimating and quoting in a low to mid-volume Job Shop environment.
• Experience with the planning and manufacturing modules of ERP systems.
• Extensive experience with the machining of different types of materials, including metallics, plastics, composites, honeycombs, and ablatives.
• Current A&P license (6 months of documented experience within the last 2 years).
• MUST HAVE TOOLS.
• Must be willing to perform other functions and duties as assigned by managers and supervisors.
• Must be willing to work any shift.
• Must be willing to work overtime (as requested).
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
