R&D Lab Technician

 

We are currently looking to hire a R&D Lab Technician for our production facility / warehouse in Itasca, IL. This is a 1st shift position 9am-7pm Monday to Friday that pays 19-21/hour to start. 

 

SUMMARY

Performs laboratory testing to assist in every aspect of coating development including quality control, process control, or product development.

 

Requires a self-starter who can perform experiments, carry out scientific tests, record and evaluate data accurately.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Sets up, calibrates, adjusts and operates laboratory equipment and instruments.

 

Runs laboratory experiments with high level of scientific accuracy.

 

Tests materials used as ingredients in coatings, such as, stability, viscosity, density, absorption,  melting or flash point.

 

Records test results on standardized forms and writes test reports describing procedures used.

 

Prepares graphs and charts.

 

Good written and verbal skills.

 

Support production quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA).

 

Provides technical service to accounts, if needed.

Education/Experience:

High school graduate or associate degree from two-year college; two years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Ability:

Ability to write reports and procedure.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, and volume.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

 

Computer Skills:

Word processing, Spreadsheet, Manufacturing software
