Electronic Avionics Designer III

 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking Electronic Avionics Designer with experience on civilian helicopters for an opportunity in Decatur, TX.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Supports Engineering Dept. and Project Engineer by providing electrical/avionics data in support of Program Directives
  • Prepares/updates electrical drawings
  • Develops cost estimates, electrical load analysis, maintenance instructions, installation instructions, flight manual supplements, and wiring interface schematics
  • Assists with the preparation of system safety assessments, failure modes and effects analyses
  • Drafts and draws wiring diagrams to facilitate installation in aircraft according to
  • FAA Regulations and MIL specifications
  • Consults with aircraft/vendor’s product service representatives to resolve problems
  • Assists on installation activities, planning installation/repair modification data in drawing packages; modifies existing off-the shelf products to comply to company needs and produce documentation of modifications
  • Check electrical drawings & schematics as generated by Designers/Drafters.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Understanding of FAA certification processes, aircraft operations, and electrical/communication and navigation systems
  • Prior technical knowledge, training and experience in Auto CAD R13, R14 or latest revision.
  • Two-year electrical/electronic/avionics diploma with emphasis on aircraft systems desired
  • Ten to fifteen years directly related experience with aircraft electrical/avionics systems
  • FCC license and/or FAA repairman certificate preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access
  • Troubleshooting techniques and test equipment knowledge
  • Interpretation and use of aircraft manufacture’s maintenance manuals, equipment installation instructions, and wiring diagrams
  • Must be willing to perform other functions and duties as assigned by managers and supervisors.
  • Must be willing to work any shift.
  • Must be willing to work overtime (as requested).
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
