Contract Technical Writer w/Possibility of Long-Term Employment

Daily Functions:

Assist in the update of Douglass MD-80 IPCs, and the development of technical manuals for aircraft interiors. Your technical writing source material will be Engineering Drawings, Bills of Materials, Engineering Orders, Design Instructions, ECOs, DCNs as well as personal research data from tapes, and online customer data portals. Completed work will show a premium-level of technical accuracy and ATA Ispec 2200 quality, but stops when a preset level of detail is met.

Daily you will investigate and resolve technical documentation problems with various engineering, manufacturing, and managing personnel.

Mandatory Aviation Knowledge/Experience:

·         Must know how to use aircraft CMMs, IPCs, AMMs, and WDMs (ATA Section 25) to attain aircraft components and work steps, and understand how to jump between these publications during use.

·         Must be familiar with ATA iSpec-2200 and how it is applied to CMMs, IPCs, AMMs, and WDM,s.

·         Must understand how to interpret Boeing Interior Engineering drawings.

·         Must understand how to use aircraft effectivities to set scope data research.

·         Must provide quality status updates.

·         Must be able to follow through with tasks per instructions, and be a fast learner in a fluid work environment.

Highly Desired Skills:

·         Technical Writing experience in the Aerospace Industry.

·         Understand how to interpret Boeing wiring diagrams.

·         Demonstrate strong problem solving skills.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·         Ability to work effectively in a team environment between Drafters, Engineers, Manufacturing, works under general supervision, and typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department when tasks are complete.
