Diesel Fleet Technician (Experienced) A- Level

Pay rate: $28.38-$30.53 per hour based on experience & qualifications
Shifts: 2nd: 1:00pm- 9:30pm Sun-Thu or Tue -Sat and 3rd Shift 11-7 Mon-Fri
$.50 2nd shift differential
$1.00 3rd shift differential

Major Responsibilities:

We maintain & repair campus shuttles for the University of Minnesota!

Performing vehicle maintenance to clients Standards of Excellence
Communicating professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors
Diagnosing all phases of vehicle and equipment repair
Working with all vehicle components include engine, driveline, electrical, brakes, suspension, steering, exhaust, cab, chassis, and hydraulics
Ensuring work orders are completed accurately
Evaluating completed work prior to release
Moving vehicles safely between job and work area
Properly using of state of the art paperless maintenance system
Actively participating in safety and educational training as required
Diesel Fleet Technician Qualifications:

5+ years of diesel vehicle maintenance & repair experience; transit bus experience is preferred
Experience with Cummins engine repair
Experience with Allison transmission repair
Strong computer diagnostics skills
Strong electrical skills
Valid driver's license
Appropriate mechanic's tool set
Possess or be able to obtain 7 ASE Certifications within 6 months of hire (Company-paid training & testing. Wage increases for all ASEs obtained!)

Diesel Technician Required License/Certifications:
• Valid Driver’s License with Class B CDL or can obtain CDL within specified time frame.
• Prefer ASE Certifications or could obtain required certification within specified time frame. (Brakes, Oil Changes, Tires)


Must have own tools
Must have steel toe boots
Must be able to pass CRIM & DMV Checks
Must be able to pass DOT Physical
Must be able to pass FMCSA DOT Drug Screen
Must be able to pass 10 yr EMP Reference Check
Must have valid DL and ability to obtain CDL
Must have high school diploma or GED Equivalent
