Structures Design Engineer

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Structures Design Engineer for an opportunity in Denver, Colorado.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The engineer will be responsible for conceptual layouts as well as preliminary and detailed design and analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures. They will design and conduct structural tests and support manufacturing throughout fabrication and assembly of the aircraft.

Qualifications and requirements:

• 5 + years of experience designing and analyzing aerospace structures

   

• Proficiency with hand and finite element analysis of aerospace structures

   

• Familiarity with composite materials and processes, tooling, layup and assembly techniques

   

• Demonstrated proficiency with Solidworks

   

• Experience developing test plans and conducting component and assembly level structural tests

   

• Excellent communication skills, ability to interface effectively with different engineering groups internally as well as existing and potential suppliers An undergraduate degree in Electrical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering is required 

• Experience with manned experimental aircraft flight testing.

• Hands on composite fabrication experience

   

• Prototype aircraft program experience

   

• Familiarity with FAR part 23 and part 25 requirements

   

• Materials testing and certification experience

   

• Aircraft structure certification experience

   

• A master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred

   

• Pilot's license and/or Aircraft Mechanic (A&P) license is a strong plus
