CAD Drafter
We are currently looking for a 1st shift CAD Drafter to join our team in Wood Dale for the remainder of the year. Our company is a large ink packager and distributor for custom label printing machines. Pay is $30-$40p/hour and this will be only a 3 month contract till the end fo the year.
Shift: 8AM to 5PM, Monday to Friday. Working out of the office.
Job Duties:
- Designs and sizes equipment such as panels, junction boxes, conduit breakers, switches, lighting and transformers
- Plans layout of conduit and fittings to efficiently utilize cost and space in compressed footprints
- Selects and programs Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to achieve customer-specified controls objectives
- Prepares specifications and estimates costs based on loosely defined system designers
- Troubleshoots customer field issues through phone, email and occasional travel to site
- Timely and accurate responses to project questions, specifications and requirements
- Ability to interface with customers, suppliers, engineers, drafters and fabricators on multiple simultaneous projects to ensure a smooth flow of information to all parties to meet customer expectations
- Review engineering deliverables to maintain project schedule and customer requirements for project drawings
- Ensure timely procurement of components and data sheets
- Maintains quality and safety standards are upheld
- Work with quality department to ensure all procedures are being followed for projects and technically ensure all equipment is tested in accordance with ASI and/or customer requirements.
Desired Qualifications:
- Advanced skill in the use of MS Office
- Skill in the use of AutoCAD products
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong cause-and-effect problem solving abilities
- 3-5 years experience in industrial equipment applications
- Knowledge of chemical feed systems, modular equipment is preferred
- Understanding of industrial panel design preferred
- Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLCs preferred
- Experience programming and troubleshooting VFDs and field instrumentation preferred
