Director of Quality
LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Director of Quality for an opportunity in San Antonio, TX.
The Director of Quality shall be responsible to the Vice President of Quality & Organizational Excellence for the overall administration of the company's Quality Management System and Inspection processes. The Director of Quality shall plan, direct, organize and control the activities of the department to provide an effective compliance to the requirements of the regulatory authorities, customers and internal policies and procedures. The Quality Control, NDT, Technical Records/Library, Training and Safety Departments report to this position.
The Director of Quality shall have the authority to report directly to the Accountable Manager, if required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
a. Plan, Organize, Lead and Control the activities of the Quality Department to provide effective implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) and the Safety Management System (SMS).
b. Coordinate with the Federal Aviation Administration's representatives relating to the activities on which the approval of the Administration must be obtained, including changes of Operations Specifications and/or manual changes as they apply.
c. Acts as a liaison with the different regulatory authorities (in coordination with the Manager Quality Control/Chief Inspector and Manager Quality Assurance) with regards to certification, audits, correspondence, meetings and other matters.
d. Assure the airworthiness of all company and customer aircraft in accordance with the provisions of the appropriate Federal Aviation Regulations and take responsibility for the effectiveness of the company’s training program.
e. Acts as the Subject Matter Expert on Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR’s) so that the appropriate regulatory guidance can be provided to the management team
f. Initiates, reviews and coordinates different Airworthiness Agreements and applicable CAMP deviation letters with all the customer programs,
g. Maintains the company’s manuals such as the Repair Station Manual, Policy and Procedure Manual, Departmental Work Instruction Manuals, etc.
h. Provides management reports related to quality activities, measurement and performance
i. Effectively use quality principles and coordinates with the different departments to develop and implement programs that will enhance the compliance level and industry’s best practices.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
a. Must possess FAA A&P Certificate at least for the last 10 years.
b. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as, interact with all
levels of employees; management personnel; and customer representatives.
c. Excellent technical writing skills
d. Must possess a high degree of confidentiality, the ability to work under pressure, the ability to
handle multiple tasks and be a self-starter.
e. Must be able to execute quality and safety programs
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Degree Holder
EXPERIENCE:
a. At least 5 years in quality management experience, preferably as a QC Manager or Chief
Inspector
b. At least 5 years of Part 145 Heavy Maintenance QC inspection experience
c. Experience in dealing with the different regulatory authorities and customers
