NC Lathe Programmer
We are currently looking to hire a NC Lathe Programmer for our manufacturing facility in Addison, IL. We are a industry leading aerospace/aviation precision machine shop and are extremely busy. This will be a 1st shift role, working 6am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday with mandatory OT. Pay starts off at $35p/hour and can go up to $40p/hour depending on experience. Summary Generate numerical control programs for the purpose of machining metal parts on CNC lathes & CNC Mills by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Analyzes drawings, blueprints, and design data of part to determine toolpath, selection of cutting tools, machine speeds / feeds, and reference points.
Creates angular and linear geometry, radii, solid models, curvatures, and outlines sequence of operations required to machine part.
Prepares geometric layout using computer-assisted drafting software to show location of reference points and visual assistance for setup purposes.
Creates setup sheets and tool sheets to guide setup and operation of machine.
Compare saved programs from shop floor with original master program for changes.
Revises program to eliminate instruction errors or omissions.
Observes operation of machine on trial run to prove out new programs and work instructions.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university or 2- 5 years related experience; and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience to be associated with CNC Lathe and or CNC Mill. Multi axis experience a plus.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
