Production Supervisor
A large client of ours in Elk Grove Village is looking for a Split Shift Production Supervisor for their production team. This client is a large ink packager and distributor for custom label printing machines. They are a Fortune 100 company offering great job stability and incredible 401K and Benefits. Pay starts at $25p/hour to $30p/hour depending on experience. See below for additional detail.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITY:
Responsibility for the day to day activities of the department to ensure productivity, delivery, quality and safety demands are met.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and assist area in its needs.
- Maintain knowledge of all area equipment and jobs.
- Provide data entry and auditing for reports and documents.
- Assist in training new associates in area operations.
- Assist in providing cross-training necessary to maintain a flexible workforce.
- Participate and lead in Kaizens when necessary.
- Assist in maintaining inventories, participate in cycle counts, and maintain Kanban.
- Support other departments as needed.
- Communicate with associates, supervisors, management and cross-functionally.
- Provide input for employee performance evaluations.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Knowledge in the safe handling and distribution of hazardous materials to include general regulatory requirements.
- Complete other duties as required.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior leadership position or proven leadership abilities
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Professional Certificates, Technical Program and/or Higher Education preferred
- Equipment certifications and/or operating experience as needed
- Ability to work with numbers and basic math skills
- Must have manufacturing environment experience
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language
- Must be computer literate, experience in Microsoft Office and Oracle (or another data base management system) preferred
- Must pass minimum proficiency test, if applicable
