Quality Engineer

 

We are currently looking to hire a full Quality Engineer for our facility in Addison, IL. Our company is a industry leading Aerospace/Aviation part manufacturer that works with large clients such as Boeing and Gulf Stream. This will be a day shift role from 8AM to 4:30PM, Monday through Friday and pay can start off at $35-$38 per hour depending on experience. Possibility for more depending on experience. Summary

Plans and conducts activities concerned with the quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

FAA-PMA source inspection

Attain FAA designated individual for approval of release documents and perform inspection as needed.

 

Document Control and scanning oversight

Activities may include revision of documents and process maps.  Attain agreement from applicable departments and ensure change effectiveness.

 

Process manual oversight

The Quality Engineer is accountable to be familiar with all of the organization’s processes and assist organizational members in attaining compliance.

 

Corrective action program

Lead the corrective action board.  Coordinate RCCA with manufacturing for customer corrections and internal prevention.  Submit CAR responses to customers and manage feedback. 

 

Internal audit program

Perform internal system, process and product audits.  Appraise process effectiveness and navigate change.  Host customer and regulatory auditors.

 

Certified employee program

Manage employee training files and ensure accuracy of retained documentation.

 

Certified supplier program

Perform supplier surveys and audits. Perform supplier surveys and audits.  Monitor supplier performance and report findings.  Create supplier corrective action requests and interact with suppliers on quality product related nonconformance issues.

 

Support the organization’s Accountable Manager

FAA Part 145repair station and Part 21 PMA administration repair roster updating, PMA designation in Syspro MRP database, quarterly FAA change order reporting, new repairman induction, drug and alcohol program, training folders and roster.

 

Perform ECO review and update the internal log.

 

Complete Customer surveys.

 

AS9102 FAIR process

Understand the aerospace requirements and the internal software used by inspection to create FAIRs.  Verify supplier submitted FAIRs.  Coordinate outsourced inspection activities if necessary.  Coordinate internal measurements with Quality Control Department.  Create documentation packages.

 

Manage Customer Perception

Customer portals, be a point of contact for customers and collect/analyze companies on time delivery, product and system quality scores.

 

Manage Contract and purchase order review process

Audit customer quality requirement flow down and ensure specification compliance.

 

Cross Training

Cross train in all other areas of Quality Engineering to ensure coverage of additional departmental and customer requirements.

 

Cross train into all Quality Control functions to ensure emergency departmental coverage:  Calibration, final inspection, receiving inspection, shelf life, outside processing, Unipoint NCs, MRB, stock sweeps, Quality Warehouse #4, RTV, red tags, hot list

 

Coordinate and perform customer source inspection preparations. 

 

Perform containment activities in response to nonconforming conditions.

 

Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures.

 

Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.

 

Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.

 

Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities.

 

Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management.

 

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Access software; be familiar with MRP systems; Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
