Project Engineer 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Project Engineer for an opportunity in Louisville, CO.

 

You will primarily serve as a Project Engineer responsible for all facets of fastener coordination. You will work as a focal point for all aspects of fasteners used in the CRS2 program. The Project Engineer works in both leadership and support roles, working with design engineering, planning and procurement, quality engineering, and production. You will report to the Spacecraft Director and work in concert with planners, buyers, the design engineering team, operations team, and all other program elements to help with program execution. You will be tasked with a wide range of data analysis and processing, including but not limited to schedule refinement, critical path and critical path credibility models, cost bill of materials analysis and spend planning, and verification planning.

 

 

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Ownership of the standard fastener library

  • Manage the incorporation of new hardware types in PLM system

  • Assist designers with hardware selection

  • Ownership of fastener requirements in engineering documents

  • Long term planning and cost projections for fasteners

  • Process improvement and new software tool development for tracking and filling fastener need

  • Engage with fastener vendors to negotiate longer term procurement strategies

  • Assist with supplier quality issues

  • Drive development of inspection processes and screening

  • Support quick-turn fastener needs for manufacturing

  • Support non-conformance resolution

 

Must Haves:

  • Requires Matriculation into an Engineering Program

  • Ability to rapidly work with minimal supervision on projects involving both small and large engineering teams

  • Previous experience and skills in project definition, simulation, implementation, lab integration and test

  • Must be able to work in a highly collaborative, fast paced environment with emphasis in rapid prototyping

  • Minimum Fundamental Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities as stated in Sierra Space's Responsibility Matrix
