Stress Engineer - Crash Dynamics
LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Stress Engineer - Crash Dynamics in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Job Summary:
Development of engineering design data within budget in accordance with FAA, customer standards of quality.
Essential Job Duties:
- Analyze and check structural engineering data produced by other engineering groups to evaluate structural integrity and ensure it meets the structural requirements for FAA and Air framer acceptance as approved data.
- Create and develop structural engineering substantiation reports that will be used to substantiate changes.
- Generate stress analysis notes in a usable, traceable file that serves as a historical substantiation record of the seating component modifications.
- Create, develop, and implement test procedures as required to obtain certifiable allowables data.
- Develop finite element models to aid in the development of design and certification data.
- Serve as the primary focal point for engineers, customers & technical personnel regarding structural substantiation issues.
- Provide input and suggestions for continuous improvement of various department procedures, controls, flows and systems, and become familiar with internal policies and procedures.
- Provide technical support to Production during the manufacturing and installation phases of developed designs.
Minimum Requirements:
- BS Degree in Mechanical/Civil/Aerospace Engineering or related scientific field, or equivalent experience.
- Two (2) years industry experience in engineering field, preferably dealing with aircraft seating products.
- Must possess extensive knowledge of engineering principles, classical stress analysis techniques and analytical substantiation methods.
- Must possess proficiency with personal computer systems with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD 2000 and/or SolidWorks.
- Must possess good oral, written, and organizational skills, and be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Preferred Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Engineering.
- Experience performing stress analysis on aircraft seating products.
- Proficiency with PC-based or workstation-based linear static and nonlinear finite element analysis software systems. Experience with ANSYS or NASTRAN and LS Dyna or Abaqus or similar software preferred.
