Position Title: Diesel Fleet Support Manager
Full-time, Hourly, 40 Hours a week.
Location: North/Northwest Suburbs of Chicago, IL

Reports To: Supervisor, Maintenance Contact Center
Direct Hire

Experience. 10+ years
Pay: $26-$32 per/hr.

Shift: Shift is Dependent on Needs and production. Based on certain metrics people can bid for better shift hours. Must be open and flexible regarding shifts They are open 24/7 as well. Working at home or come to the office 1-2 times a week.

What we are looking for: An experienced Diesel Technician looking to change career paths! Looking for a Mechanic who can turn a wrench and willingness to transition and work in a call center type of environment
Skills Needed:
• Computer proficient
• Consultative analytical acumen
• Customer service, good communication, and good interpersonal skills.
• In-depth Knowledge of Diesel Technology (Mechanic)
• Knowledge of Hydraulics, Material handing i.e., forklifts, and reefer exp. a plus.
Training: Monday to Friday, starting 7am or 7:30am working a full 8-hour day.
Classroom training for 1 week, then on the job training for the next 2-3 weeks. Being fully functional may take up to 2-3 months!
Job Description:

• The Fleet Support Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the programs offered to customers.
• These programs include maintenance repair consultation, fuel, glass and rentals.
• The maintenance advisor will be providing guidance and service through timely communication with vendors, fleet managers and drivers by phone and email.
• Position is contingent to department availability/needs.
• Receive inbound phone calls and work electronic purchase orders to effectively, efficiently, and professionally review and approve vehicle maintenance requests
• Research vehicle maintenance history, compare competitive prices, check warranty eligibility, verify requested flat rate times compared to published flat rate times
• Maintain consistent time and/or cost savings advantage for customers
• Prompt follow-up with fleet contact(s) and service vendors.
• Adheres to authorization, and approval, policy as outlined by each client
• Problem resolution for any maintenance or repair issue
• Updating customer vehicle maintenance history
• Excellent phone and written communication skills.
• Combination of teamwork and independence.
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Basic aptitude of Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, Outlook etc.

Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Associates degree in Automotive Truck or Diesel Technology preferred
• Truck and diesel mechanic experience preferred
