Diesel Mechanic
Location: Charleston, SC.
Shift: 1st 7:00am - 4:00pm Mon-Fri
Pay Rate: $24-$27 per hr.

Due to recent growth, we are currently seeking Mechanics and Technicians for routine, preventative, and repair maintenance at multiple facilities.
The technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, servicing, and repairing of trucks, trailers, chassis. Technicians must be able to complete all fleet maintenance processes and ensure that units always meet company specifications.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair most transmission, engine, electrical, suspension, driveline, brakes and air systems
- Repair/Replace body parts such as hoods and cab extenders
- Perform DOT inspections as needed
- Maintain accurate parts inventory, requesting new parts/supplies as needed
- Repair vehicles by interviewing drivers; diagnosing problems; testing functions using test equipment; repairing or replacing parts using hand tools and garage equipment
- Perform open seat inspections to prepare tractor for next driver
- Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation accurately and timely
- Must be capable of using all diagnostic equipment and resources
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Maintain a high level of productivity
- Perform basic or minor repairs and inspections on brakes, tires, wiring etc.
- Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on tractors, chassis and trailers
- Check and replace vehicle fluids; transmission, oil, windshield wiper, antifreeze, etc. as needed
- Perform vehicle preventative maintenance as outlined
- Check and change tires as needed
- Maintain daily OOS records
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- 3-5 years-experience
- Strong logical thinking, analytical skills, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt quickly, and work under high pressure, results oriented environment
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time
- Ability to work overtime as needed during peak volumes
- Must own his/her own tool set
