Warehouse Worker
Hours: 8-5 pm
Contract Length: 6 months, possible extension of contract and/or direct hire
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible to perform work in numerous areas of the warehouse including receiving, stockroom, and shipping.
- Responsible for material movement, storage, and associated computer transactions.
- Maintain the Trouble Shelf and the Trouble Shelf Aging Report. Provide the report regularly to Procurement to and resolve discrepancies.
- Communicate with all internal departments and personnel via e-mail or phone to provide the status of material movement activity.
- Verify count against purchase order as required and perform Oracle receiving transactions.
- Operate manual and powered material handling equipment.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience in all areas of warehouse operation: receiving, warehousing, and shipping.
- Possess good problem-solving skills and judgment.
- Assistance solving difficult problems is available through the area lead or direct supervisor.
- Computer literate: MS office suite of software applications i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook. Oracle preferred.
- Proficient with all types of shipping software, FEDEX a minimum requirement. Clear Orbit and Spex a plus.
- Ability to use automated material handling equipment: stock picker, pallet jack, and forklift (will train).
- Internal and external customer service skills critical as is a willingness to be part of a team.
- Accurate and clear written and oral communication a must
- Knowledge of basic math skills and ability to operate a calculator.
- Knowledge of electronic parts is desirable.
- Familiarity with ATA specification number 300
- Familiar with various hand tools and associated safety procedures.
