Seeking a qualified Shift Supervisor for our manufacturing facility in Arlington Heights. This job is in a metal/steel fabrication shop that specializes in grinding and honing of parts. Looking for someone with a Management/Supervisor background within a machine shop type environment (grinding knowledge isn't needed, but a plus). This will be a permanent, long term role and pay hourly. See below for more details.

Shift:

5:30AM to 3PM. OT is a must, working close to 50 hours a week. Also must be able to work every other Saturday for additional OT.

Pay:

Pay is depending on experience. We are looking between $25 and $35 p/hour. With the right experience we may be able to pay more. OT is time and a half.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Efficiently set-up, adjust and operate multiple grinding machine types within the department (i.e.:  I/D, O/D, Centerless and Face)
• Required to train less experienced operators
• Accountable for customer demands and requirements
• Record incoming and outgoing material
• Work with programming and new job development
• Monitor, maintain and recommend any department requirements
• Observe machine operations to detect any problems
• Perform advanced troubleshooting
• Responsible for daily schedules, personnel and attendance
• Create and manage programming, job instructions and processes
• Develops new methods and procedures to optimize efficiencies, maximize production and reduce operating costs
• Work with HR in conducting performance reviews and disciplinary actions
• Manages department consumables, tooling and programming
• Works with vendors to aid in department advancements
• Enforce safety, quality, discipline, company policies, cooperation and teamwork
• Maintain and monitor that the work areas are organized, clean and safe

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
