School Bus Mechanic

 

LAUNCH TransTechs is seeking a School Bus Mechanic to perform assigned vehicle maintenance related functions and facility maintenance to assist in maintaining school buses in safe, comfortable and like new operable condition.

 

Location: Rochelle Park/Englewood, NJ.

Pay: $21-$31 Depending On Experience

Shifts: 1st. shift: 8:00am to 5:00pm 

 

Some OT - 45hrs average.

    Contract to Hire 120 Days

    Shifts: 1st shifts: 8:00am - 5:00pm M-F
    Could work OT up to 50 hrs. average 45 hrs.

    Total # Needed =2

    Mon-Fri 8am-5pm with a pay range of 21-31hr dependent on skill level. CDL is a must, ASE S4 brakes within 90 days

    DIESEL BUS TECHNICIANS (B - LEVEL) ASE/S4 Cert within 90 days.

    Fleet Maintenance Mechanic Major Responsibilities:

    Diagnose and perform accurately all phases of vehicle and equipment repair under minimal supervision. Repairs include brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches, and other repairs.
    Remove, overhaul and reinstall mechanical components with minimal supervision.
    Lead preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
    Ensure work orders are completed properly and accurately. Maintain records of all maintenance work completed including parts and supplies used.
    Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action is taken.
    Evaluate completed work prior to release and seek approval where required.
    Lead road calls and emergency services as necessary.
    Adhere to company standards, policies, and procedures.
    Moves vehicles safely between job and work area.
    Perform other responsibilities as requested or required.
    Fleet Maintenance Mechanic Qualifications:

    A vocational or technical degree in vehicle maintenance is preferred.
    Valid driver’s license required.
    5+ years of automotive or diesel repair employment experience or combination of education & experience.
    Advanced diagnostics skills and mechanical knowledge are required.
    Must have appropriate mechanic’s toolset.
    ASE certifications within 90 days. Must participate in company ASE certification program (company training, testing, and bonuses provided!).
    Strong computer skills.
    Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
    Ability to work assigned shifts.
    Be subject to a drug test.

    Must have own tools

    Must be able to pass CRIM & DMV Checks
    Must be able to pass DOT Physical
    Must be able to pass FMCSA DOT Drug Screen
    Must be able to pass 10 yr EMP Reference Check
    Must have valid DL and ability to obtain CDL
    Must have high school diploma or GED Equivalent
