Material Handler

We are looking for a strong Material Handler for our 1st shift at our facility in Lake Zurich, IL. They will be working from 7:00AM to 4:30PM, Monday through Friday and making anywhere from $17 to $18p/hour. The ideal candidate would have 2 to 3 years of experience handling material and distributing product within a manufacturing environment. See below for additional details:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Proper scrap material handling, moving and identification as to avoid contamination of scrap
• Drain scrap turnings of excess fluid, dumping dry turnings into larger bins for shipping
• Maintain weights of all scrap by alloy by container for proper shipment to scrap vendors
• Identify and communicate when lugers/roll-offs/totes/barrels need to be replaced
• Proper monthly packaging and labeling of all return to vendor material
• Operate forklifts, manual and electric pallet jacks, and overhead cranes
• Pick up of solid scrap from machine and other locations for segregation into solid scrap barrels
• Load scrap and return to vendor materials onto truck
• Maintenance of storage areas
• Change forklift propane tanks when necessary
• Basic housekeeping and janitorial duties including, but not limited to stocking paper towels and cleaning the shop floor

 Requirements

• Must have basic math skills and be able to follow written and verbal skills.
• A strong attention to detail is also key to success in this role. 
• Must be able to work safely and be able to be forklift certified on both stand-up sideloaders and sit-down fork trucks.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
