Fleet Maintenance Manager
Detroit, MI.Pay: $80k to $95k salary DOE1st. Shift: 6AM-3:30PM or 9:AM to 5:30pm M-FTotal Number Needed = 1 (Fleet Maintenance Manager )Vehicles: Tractor Car Haulers (mostly Volvo make)The Fleet Maintenance Manager oversees and maintains an effective fleet maintenance program that prolongs the life of both vehicles and equipment, ensures safe operation of all equipment and completes repairs and preventive maintenance in a timely manner.Major Responsibilities:Essential Functions PercentageManage a team of mechanics- 20%Ensure Safe Work Methods are always followed - 20%Schedule and direct workflow through shop; Assist technicians with difficult repairs - 20%Coordinates outside fleet repairs to ensure maximum equipment uptime -10%Reviews completed maintenance work for timeliness, completeness, accuracy, and quality; Ensure a high level of employee productivity - 10%Maintain and balance inventories; Accurately record vehicle history - 10%Perform quality inspections / audits on trucks and trailers - 10%Uphold the company’s core values of Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, Excellence and Safety.Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company’s standards of service and safety.It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.Qualifications• Minimum - High School diploma; Associates or Tech School degree preferred, but not required• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in managing a heavy-duty truck repair shops • Team oriented, flexible, and focused on maintaining a high level of communication with management, coworkers, and suppliers• Ability to delegate work and manage your own and others productivity• Proven track record of success in leadership, organizational skills, and time management• Class A (CDL) License preferred, but not required• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Power Point, Excel, and web-based applications required.Physical DemandsStanding: 25%-30%Sitting: 15%-20%Reaching: 5%-10%Lifting: 25-50 lbsBending: 5%-10%Stooping: 5%-10%Walking: 15%-20%Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
