Regional Fleet Maintenance Manager

Location: Can work from or reside in Texas, Georgia or Florida

Pay: $95k to $115k  DOE

Shift: Days

 

Oversees Georgia, Texas and Florida regions

Pay: $95k to $115k salary DOE

Vehicles: Tractor Car Haulers (mostly Volvo make)The Fleet Maintenance Manager oversees and maintains an effective fleet maintenance program that prolongs the life of both vehicles and equipment, ensures safe operation of all equipment and completes repairs and preventive maintenance in a timely manner.he Opportunity:We are seeking a Regional Fleet Maintenance Manager to work out of Texas, Georgia or Florida. The Regional Fleet Maintenance manager reports to the Director of Fleet Operations Rob. This leadership role is responsible for the Health, Safety, and Welfare of Technicians, Planners, and Service & Inventory Coordinators. This qualified applicant will be responsible for budgeting, scheduling, training, safety compliance, and customer relationships. The Regional Fleet Maintenance Manager works closely with Fleet Maintenance Managers to support business needs and to implement company-wide maintenance strategy including preventative maintenance schedules, campaigns, recalls, diagnostics, and equipment specification. This role requires 50% travel.Key Responsibilities:Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.Manage all aspects of the maintenance hub and spoke sites in accordance with the region's business plan and budget.Ensure the proper maintenance and repair of equipment at all Hub and spoke shop sites by managing day to day activities.Evaluate vehicles and equipment with respect to replacement or refurbishment due to age, history of repair, and lifetime repair costs.Remain current and ensure adherence to all laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines affecting area of responsibility. (DOT, OSHA, RCRA, Etc.).Prepare reports, analyze data, and make recommendations for continuous improvements.Initiate and carry out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.Ensure that all personnel are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated in a positive manner.Communicate regularly with all business owners to ensure business needs are met.Ensure all tools, equipment, and machinery are maintainedRecruit, train, and professionally develop employees.Communicate clear expectations and foster a collaborative climate with peers and teams.

 

The Fleet Maintenance Manager oversees and maintains an effective fleet maintenance program that prolongs the life of both vehicles and equipment, ensures safe operation of all equipment and completes repairs and preventive maintenance in a timely manner.

Provides leadership, direction, and oversight to company fleet maintenance facilities and outside service providers. Ensures compliance to all department and company policies / procedures related to maintaining the fleet. Leads, trains, and holds direct reports accountable for achieving goals. Must exemplify company core values.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Essential Functions Percentages:

 

Participate and lead strategic planning sessions for department / company - 20%
Ensures that “best maintenance practices” are implemented and followed - 20%
Provides daily direction and oversight to multi location departments, including parts and supply inventories - 20%
Provides technical support and training programs relevant to specialized fleet -5%
Ensures maximum fleet availability and reliability while managing cost control - 15%
Ensures compliance with vehicle repair history retention (company and legal) - 10%
Identify, coach, train, and mentors future department leaders - 5%
Works with all departments to identify and remove road blocks that prevent achieving goals -5%

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Regional Manager experience
• Minimum 10 years Fleet Management with multi location carrier / at least 3 years of regional level responsibilities

   and currently hold or function Regional Maintenance Manager capacity.
• Must be highly analytical with strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Position requires approximately 50% travel
