CMM Programmer
LAUNCH is seeking a CMM Programmer for an opportunity in Dillon, South Carolina.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
CMM Programmer demonstrates an expert ability to operate CMM scanners, produce reports and recommend corrective actions to manufacturing and production personnel. In addition, the CMM programmer demonstrates an ability to program CMM scanners as well as develop inspection processes and inspection.
CMM Programmer works with without supervision and direction to use predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to perform in-process and completed inspections of aerospace alloys for the gas turbine engine industry. Uses various measuring devices to perform required inspections and accepts or rejects malfunctioning or non-conforming units or systems. Works from blueprints, digital models, diagrams, or other customer specifications, and uses inspection instructions and checklists. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops, maintains, and generates CMM programs used to inspect and verify production materials and components.
- Reviews blueprints and specifications to establish correct inspection criteria following best practices.
- Program and / or calibrate the coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Conduct quality control inspections
- Troubleshoot and perform maintenance as necessary on the CMM
- Other duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Associate Degree and / or CMM technical training preferred.
- 2 to 5 years of professional work experience as a CMM Programmer. Aerospace or Automotive Quality experience is preferred.
- Proficient with system software such as PC-DMIS.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
- Working knowledge of ANSI, ASME, ISO and GD&T.
- Experience with precise measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers
- Basic math skills.
- Familiar with Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
- Skill in following directions both verbal and written and in transferring instructions into action.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks and high volume of work on a deadline.
- Attention to detail
- Intermediate math skills to include adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, and fractions for the purpose of print reading and tolerance determination.
- Willingness to learn
- US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required due to government military contracts.
- Must be willing to work any shift.
- Must be willing to work overtime (as requested).
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
