Head of Production

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Head of Production with experience running a production / maintenance operation for an opportunity in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Looking for a change agent to help move away from EASA setup and more into FAA operation based on their location to better utilize labor/A&P License in the states.
• As a member of the senior management team the Head of Production is responsible to lead and develop the production management team to manage and continuously improve production processes, ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, and develop the production strategy in line with the overall company strategy. .
• Lead the operations team through the PPM process and performance dialogue to meet operations targets, in collaboration with both Production and Support organizations
• Ensure project teams identify prioritize and resolve critical issues in a timely manner so that all project targets are achieved or exceeded
• Agree performance improvement targets with the production managers and ensure they are achieved through sustained process improvement activities
• Create a culture where compliance with targets and standards is the norm, agree targets with the Production Managers for same and hold them accountable for the achievement of all targets and the maintenance of all standards
• Ensure systems are in place to secure compliance with all regulations (Part 145, EN9110, Working Time System, Company Procedures, audits etc.)
• AS a member of the executive team actively contribute to the development of the company strategy
• Define a clear strategy for production in line with the company strategy and develop plans to support the communication and execution of this strategy
• Create a positive working environment within production, which enables our teams to be motivated, engaged, successful and know that they matter.
• Ensure the production managers have development plans in place for their teams developing technical, leadership and interpersonal skills
• Conduct annual and interim appraisals for all direct reports
• Foster, develop and build strong working relationships between Production and Support functions
• Managing the Production Cost Centre within budget
• Other tasks or duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer including deputizing for CEO
• Support Sales and Key Account management in customer negotiations
• Develop close working relationships with customers, understand their priorities and always ensure effective communication with them
• Ensure production management team understand and meet customer expectations

Job Requirements:

• Ideal candidate previously ran production / maintenance operation.
• Spanish bi-lingual a plus.
• Commercial experience / background preferred, not required.
• Bachelor’s degree or relevant job experience or equivalent.
• Experience in a management role for at least five (5) years
• MRO experience for at least eight (8) years (heavy maintenance)
• Qualification in Lean Management skills, or equivalent, is desirable
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with different intercultural business partners effectively and clearly
• Ability to lead, coach and motivate teams and individuals
• Strong interpersonal skills and strong change management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and with demanding deadlines
• Excellent English language skills (both written and spoken)
• Travel as required by the position
