Shop Maintenance Manager
Shift: M - F, 1st Pay: $65,000 - $75,000 depending on experience + Monthly cell phone stipend
LAUNCH TransTechs is looking for a Shop Maintenance Manager to oversee all shop activities, the shop supervisor, mechanics, and support staff to ensure that the maintenance of all company fleet trucks is being completed in a safe and timely manner.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Schedule, coordinate and maintain records on all maintenance activities for a mixed fleet of 180 vehicles – Freightliner, Volvo and International.
- Oversee the Fleet Periodic Maintenance Inspection Program by regularly reviewing and auditing processes/procedures to ensure that the maintenance employees are performing quality inspections/repairs, documenting all repairs, and making process alterations as needed.
- Ensures proper parts inventory management and organization.
- Performs regular inspections to guarantee processes are being followed.
- Promote positive team work and safe working behaviors.
- Create a daily work schedule to ensure mechanics are effectively utilized.
- Ensure safety procedures are followed per policy.
- Provide proper coaching and/or mentorship to all maintenance employees that will help promote a healthy and positive work environment.
- Oversee fleet compliance by ensuring daily inspections of all Company vehicles that are governed under the Federal and State regulatory agencies
- Establish great working relationship with parts, maintenance and service vendors.
- Any other duties assigned to support operations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- The equivalent of a High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Manager - directly managing shop employees daily.
- Extensive knowledge of OHSA and DOT regulations.
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated, highly competitive, and results-oriented with a proven and documented history of success.
- Proficiency level skills in Excel, Word, & Outlook.
- Work experience in successfully implementing safety programs and processes in a fleet environment.
- Work experience resolving human resource and labor relations issues with employees.
- Highly proficient in fleet maintenance and shop operations.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Vendor management and purchasing systems experience.
- Previous hands on diesel mechanic experience, Mechanical school certificate and/or ASE certification(s)
- Must have own tools.
- Must have steel toe boots.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
