Shipping and Receiving Clerk
We are currently looking to hire a shipping and receiving clerk for our production facility / warehouse in Itasca, IL. This is a 1st shift position 8am-5+OTpm Monday to Friday that pays 17/hour to start.
Summary: This position is responsible for handling shipping paperwork, coordination of freight pick-up, prepping of order readiness with production and shipping personnel, and keeping an open communication with Customer Service regarding shipment of orders. This role also assists with the shipping function as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Shipping and Scheduling Shipments
- Scheduling of trucks (LTL, FTL, and parcel packages) through our logistics program.
- Assign carriers based on price, service, and timing.
- Print shipping documentation through our ERP system which would include: bill of ladings, packing slips and SDS.
- Communication with Customer Service, Production, Scheduling, and the Shipping Department in regard to the receipt, set-up and shipment of all orders leaving our facility.
- Work with drivers and ensure timely resolution of pick-ups.
- Assist Shipping personnel with any packaging or loading issues.
- Strong attention to detail, able to use Microsoft Office, familiarity with ERP / scan guns, and Shipping software.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to handle and organize daily paperwork.
- Strong communication skills, ability to write e-mails to people inside and outside our organization.
- Able to lift 30 pounds minimum
- Forklift a plus
