Billing Manager

 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Billing Manager with MRO program management experience for an opportunity in Marana Arizona.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

This position is responsible for leading and planning the billing, accounts receivable, and collections operations for a 5-person department. The individual is responsible for designing, implementing, and enforcing policies and procedures, as well as streamlining effective billing processes across multiple locations. This position is highly visible and requires a strong leader with the ability to prioritize, plan, and direct the department.

  • Oversee and streamline billing and collections processes
  • Month-end invoicing and closing of billing data to the General Ledger
  • Hiring, training and supervising billing staff
  • Ensure the accuracy of customer invoicing
  • Plan and implement quality assurance for all billing and collection processes
  • Special program/billing planning and implementation
  • Personnel development; staff meetings
  • Staffing discussions and planning; Team building
  • Field Operations problem escalation and resolution
  • Strategic planning and priority setting for Billing Department
  • Continual process improvement and problem solving
  • Supervise a team of Billing Associates that generate customer invoices, monitor and maintain customer account balances and collect open accounts receivable balances.
  • Billing activities including running labor reports, obtaining bill of materials and tabulating fuel/oil charges, freight costs and other miscellaneous charges to be billed.
  • Prepare/review invoice packages and research of items disputed items by customers
  • Perform collection activity on past due customer account receivable balances
  • Maintain thorough understanding of all customer accounts receivable balances
  • Create customer statements, copies of customer invoices and other documentation upon request
  • Utilize the corporate ERP system to generate reports to perform account reconciliations
  • Interact with Operations and other key departments to ensure customer accurate invoicing
  • Proofread reports
  • Prepare summaries of data for the Finance Department as requested
  • File invoices, checks and reports on a daily or monthly basis as required.
  • Ensure that all work performed is done in a safe manner. Direct activities of staff to protect employees from harm and maintain safe working conditions.
  • Other billing related tasks as assigned
  • Will participate in and support safety initiatives, safe work practices and SMS compliance
  • Will participate in safety activities including the following: immediately reporting hazards, unsafe work practices and accidents/injuries
  • Will follow all safety rules, FAA regulations, PPE compliance and equipment operation requirements

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in managing a billing department in a complex billing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business management required
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to motivate direct reports
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and internal personal skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to organize and plan work adhering to deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask in a complex multi-location environment
  • Self-directed with the ability to work without supervision
  • Physical and mental requirements: The flexibility to work extended hours, especially towards month and year end
  • Other: May be required to work at both Marana, AZ and Tucson, AZ locations as business needs dictate
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
