Summary Description: The Structures Engineer position is responsible for supporting the development, testing activities pertaining to structural and system configuration of the aircraft at Moses Lake, WA. Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):- Support Flight Testing Activities, including but not limited to:
a. Discuss, review and participated in airplane structural and system modification plans and preparation activities b. Resolve technical issues relating to structural and system installation c. Support Maintenance Engineering teams during modification periods d. Attend Change Board (CCB) meetings for design changes e. Generate structural and system installation change modification drawings f. Ensure on-time Engineering deliverables to support flight test schedule- Lead and oversee the technical and design aspects for structures/systems installation
Disposition flight snags - Develop informed judgements regarding continued airworthiness and safety of flight.- Assess A/C configurations to determine airworthiness and safety of flight.
- Review and disposition Notice of Escapes with respect to the impact to airworthiness and the aircraft testing schedule
- Disposition Non-Conformance’s, ranging from simple repairs to more complex flight critical repairs.
- Document flight test design problems for long term fixes
- Create Test Definition sheets to facilitate Test Flights
- Conduct stress check
Generate and review appropriate Limitations documentation - Compose restrictions to limit the operation of a flight test vehicle- Review technical procedures for maintaining Flight Test vehicles, & acceptance/alleviation as required

Level Requirements (Minimum): Education- Five (5) year degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Avionics, Electrical, or Instrumentation)
- Other Engineering fields may be considered
Experience- Aerospace engineering experience in Structures, including experience in primary and secondary structure design, damage tolerance, durability, stability, and lofting.
- Experience with CATIA is preferred.
- Level 3 = 1<5 years of experience
- Level 2 = 5<10 years of experience
- Level 1 = 10+ years of experience

- Travel (flying and driving) to various domestic and international worksites and client offices are required. Frequent travel required to the Moses Lake Facility for extended periods of time during scheduled flight test operations.
