Director of Powerplant Programs and Inventory Management

 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Director of Powerplant Programs and Inventory Management for an opportunity in Wilmington, Ohio.

 

Position Summary:

  • Manages CAM Engine Programs.
  • Interfaces with senior management, FAA, DAR’s, aircraft engineers, aircraft owners, and operators.
  • Inspect, research, and approve engine records prior to purchase and transfer of ownership, leases, modifications, and maintenance.
  • Generates powerplant inventory demand schedule and updates routinely for executive & senior management.
  • Interface with operators, owners, customers and/or storage facilities during or prior to the purchase, or lease of aircraft.
  • Coordinates activities with FAA and DAR to procure Special Flight Permits, Export Certificates of Airworthiness, and Standards Certificate of Airworthiness, or other Regulatory requirements as needed.
  • Initiate Temporary Storage or Maintenance Requests with MRO service providers or other facilities as required.
  • Review invoices for CAM associated costs, provide oversight on engine maintenance activities.
  • Manage CAM engine record personnel and assigned daily tasks as required.
  • Support and assist in Aircraft Purchase record reviews,
  • Generate Technical Acceptance documents, coordinate aircraft purchase closings, interface with multiple nationalities, provide technical support to general counsel, and interface with the FAA on a regular basis.
  • Interface directly with corporate treasury to ensure each engine/aircraft has required insurance prior to movement is assigned to the correct customer or airline.
  • Must provide Declarations for international travel for aircraft which must move immediately and submit for re-register or de-register aircraft.
  • Interface with repair facilities for aircraft return to service requirements.
  • Participate in airline and MRO executive planning meetings and long-range planning objectives.
  • Interface with airline presidents, chief operating officers, vice presidents, support management, and maintenance personnel on daily basis.
  • Review and approve 3rd party and other support expenditures, invoices and quotes for conversion, customer lease, and C-check aircraft.
  • Create or update aircraft records “Bible” for leased aircraft
  • Review Airworthiness Directive (AD) status reports and AD maintenance records for compliance. Assembles FAA C of A support documents for DAR’s or FAA inspectors
  • Convert or generate aircraft hard-time components reports, AD status reports, service bulletins, and last-done next-due reports.
  • Interpret AMOCs and AWLs and validate compliance if applicable
  • Participates in general aircraft return to service work scopes development. Provides Boeing, Airbus or the operator with task cards or other support documents. Manage and updates in-progress maintenance package records for lessor/lessee engines
  • Identify and assist in procuring support equipment, components, engine furnishings, or parts as required.
  • Coordinates with powerplant engineering personnel for special installation or repair issues. Provide or coordinate technical support for customers

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Requires A&P license or BS in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience in an airline maintenance or MRO environment.
  • Must have at least 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Must be familiar with Part 91, 121, and 145 FARs.
  • Understands and can interpret Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, Airline Maintenance Programs, Manuals, and Freighter Conversion document
  • Strong interpersonal skills for dealing with representatives of the FAA or other regulatory agencies
