Seeking a qualified Production Manager for our manufacturing facility in Arlington Heights. This job is in a metal/steel fabrication shop that specializes in grinding and honing of parts. Looking for someone with a Management/Supervisor background within a machine shop type environment (grinding knowledge isn't needed, but a plus). This will be a permanent, long term role and pay hourly. See below for more details.

Shift:

5:30AM to 3PM. OT is a must, working close to 50 hours a week. Also must be able to work every other Saturday for additional OT.

Pay:

Pay is depending on experience. We are looking between $40 and $45 p/hour. With the right experience we may be able to pay more. OT is time and a half.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 5+ Years of Production Management/Supervision 
• Liaise with other managers to formulate objectives (schedules, training, machine set-ups, etc.)
• Organize workflow to meet deadlines
• Provide motivation, support and guidance to all employees
• Manage and direct 50-75 employees while on duty
• Monitor production. Manage and evaluate machine resources to ensure productivity and minimal downtime
• Problem solving skills
• Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel
• Determine amount of necessary resources (workforce, etc.)
• Ensure output meets quality standards
• Enforce safety procedures
• Direct/and provide production supervisor with schedules and ensure that the departments are efficient and productive

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Proven track record of successfully training employees in productivity and safety

• Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations            

• Ability to coach and mentor employees on a one-on-one basis as well as a group

• Attention to detail

• Dependable work ethic
• Able to follow written and verbal direction
• Demonstrate ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Spanish speaking a PLUS but required
