Production Lead

 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Production Lead with extensive aerospace experience in Tulsa, OK.

 

Summary Statement:

 

Supervises and coordinates activities of assigned personnel and implements and administers policies and procedures as delegated by management.  Develops and provides leadership to customer-focused production teams to institutionalize the processes of Continuous Quality Improvement in accordance with organization goals and objectives.

 

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:

 

Studies production schedules and estimates Stakeholder hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Oversees department activities and revises work assignments to meet schedules and contract priorities.  Coordinates activities and provides technical direction to personnel. 

 

Interprets company policies to Stakeholders and enforces regulations relating to safety, attendance, conduct, and other plant rules.  Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to Stakeholders, and assigns duties.  Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production or processing schedules.

 

Recommends measures to improve production or processing methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.  Provides guidance to teams on development, performance and productivity issues.

 

Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew. Monitors and expedites flow of materials within production area.

 

Receives and answers questions from Stakeholders pertaining to area processes or equipment operation. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists Stakeholders in solving work problems. Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.

 

Maintains time and production or processing records. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate Stakeholders to achieve work goals. Notifies maintenance Stakeholders of equipment malfunctions.

 

Performs all of the job functions and activities of Stakeholders supervised. Trains Stakeholders in equipment operation and in processing and safety procedures.

 

Ancillary Functions and Responsibilities:

Performs other duties as required.  These duties may include assignments in job classifications other than the primary assignment.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:   LEAD PRODUCTION

 

Formal Education, Training, Licenses and Work Experience:

Experience may be substituted for the formal education and training requirements in this section at the discretion of management.  High School graduate with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in performing the type of work in the discipline of the work group where they will perform the duties of a Lead.  The experience requirements may be met through directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Candidates for this position must be proficient in the processes and procedures for the area over which supervision is exercised.  Additionally, to qualify for this position a candidate also must have one (1) year of the required five (5) years experience in training, assigning and reviewing the work of lesser skilled stakeholders or have formal leadership assignments from another organization.

 

Categories and Number of Stakeholders Directly Supervised:

Leads from 3 to 20 Production and Maintenance Stakeholders.

 

Special Job Requirements, Skills, Tools and Equipment:

Demonstrate competency in applying the following in performing normal job duties.

  • Perform all work operations of the area over which leadership is exercised.
  • The following statement is only applicable if the job function will also be performed under the division’s repair station certificate. To obtain a Repairman’s Certification the person must understand, read, and write English and have either – at least 18 months of practical experience in the procedures, practices, inspection methods, materials, tools, machine tools, and equipment generally used in the maintenance duties of the specific job for which the person is to be employed and certified; or completed formal training that is acceptable to the Administrator and is specifically designed to qualify the applicant for the job on which the applicant is to be employed.

 

Special Training and Behavioral Competencies:

The following training requirements and competencies must be met before acceding to this job.

  • Safety training applicable to the job and the general work area.
  • Comply with The Group Leadership Competencies for Leads and Supervisors.
  • Ability and willingness to assist and transfer technical knowledge to less experienced Stakeholders.

 

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Stakeholder to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is regularly required to talk and hear.  The Stakeholder frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  The Stakeholder is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The Stakeholder must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  Work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week as required.  Plus specific requirements of the job.

 

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Stakeholder encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Work in stressful situations and handle multiple priorities.  Demonstrate interpersonal, organizational and communication skills to interact effectively with other people, inside the Company.
