Tooling Engineer

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Tooling Engineer for an opportunity in Orange City, Iowa.

Position Summary:

• Use CAD software to create designs for tools and mechanical parts.
• Enhance existing designs and developing new ones,
• Prepare blueprints for mechanical parts, and
• Provide technical support to clients. You should be able to
• Collaborate with other engineers and manufacturing staff.
• Demonstrate superb attention to detail.
• Manage time efficiently.
• Must be deadline-driven, meticulous, and consistently produce high-quality work.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Use CAD or AutoCAD to analyze existing tooling designs and improve on them.
• Develop blueprints for new tooling designs as per client or project specifications.
• Share designs with colleagues and implementing any relevant feedback in the new designs.
• Develop prototypes and testing new designs.
• Conduct quality assurance tests on new designs.
• Travel to manufacturing plants and factories to gather information, consult with manufacturing, and design teams.
• Create blueprints and designs using CAD or AutoCAD.
• Negotiate with vendors and contractors to secure the best deals.
• Schedule meetings with management and marketing personnel as required.
• Keep abreast of developments in the Engineering field by expanding networks and attending events.

Qualifications and Requirements: 

• Technical degree

• CNC programmer/operator experience.

• Design in Solidworks.

• Program 5-Axis in CamWorks.

• Able to run 5-Axis machines.

• The ability to work independently and to collaborate with others.

• Practical experience using CAD and AutoCAD software.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.

• A good eye for detail

• Leadership skills.

• The ability to work long hours.

• The ability to complete projects on time and to specification.

• Must pass pre-employment background check and urinalysis.
