Auto/Gas Mechanic
Shift: M-F 8am-5pm
Pay: up to $25 per hour depending on experience level
Equiment: fleet of small shuttle buses, SUVs and passenger cars
LAUNCH TransTechs is seeking an Auto/Gas Mechanic in McKees, PA to perform assigned vehicle maintenance related functions and facility maintenance to assist in maintaining school buses in safe, comfortable and like new operable condition.
Auto/Gas Mechanic Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works under the direct supervision of an assigned skilled and certified journeyman technician to receive hands-on training.
- Performs assigned vehicle and facility maintenance related duties (e.g. vehicle washing, cleaning, fueling, oil changes, lubrication, light vehicle repair etc.) in a safe and timely manner.
- Arranges for and obtains appropriate inspections and approval of all repairs before vehicle is released from maintenance facility.
- Maintains a safe, clean, productive and efficient work area including ensuring work area is in compliance with all relevant Federal, State/Provincial and local guidelines and requirements.
- Records time spent, parts used and repairs conducted on the appropriate form upon completion of assignment.
- Advises Supervisor immediately of unsafe maintenance conditions or practices.
Qualified Candidates For The Auto/Gas Mechanic Position Will Have Met The Following:
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- 2-4 years of related experience.
- Must have own set of tools.
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
- Must be able to pass DOT Physical.
- Must be able to pass FMCSA DOT Drug Screen.
- Must have steel toe boots.
- Must be able to pass CRIM & DMV Checks.
Working Conditions:
- Position is continuously exposed to noise, exhaust, extreme temperatures, vibration, chemicals and sharp objects.
- Position works both inside and outside a facility when washing and cleaning buses and performing light repairs and therefore may be exposed to extremes in weather conditions as per the assigned location.
- Position is continuously exposed to chemicals (e.g. gasoline, coolant, battery acid etc.).
- Position may require work at heights above the ground and be exposed to electrical shock and hazardous materials.
