EH&S Specialist
LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking A&P Mechanics for opportunity in Albany, Georgia.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation multiple environmental, health & safety (EHS) tasks including, but not limited to, employee and contractor safety, safety training, incident investigation, emergency response, industrial hygiene, hazardous communication, and wastewater & Haz waste management that comply with regulatory requirements and promote employee participation and accountability.
- Promotes EHS awareness by building on existing culture and programs strengths, contributing communication with all level employees, promoting behavioral based safety and positive reinforcement of safety and health
- Assist Manufacturing and Facilities in implementing incident prevention tools and perform risk assessments on high-risk job tasks
- Drives/participates in near-miss & incident investigation, root cause analysis, recordkeeping, and follow-up. Make recommendations for prevention based on results of investigations
- Build, direct, and ensure effective implementation of EH&S performance management system, tracks & monitors plant’s safety performance.
- Coordinates safety training for all plant personnel. Provide coaching to plant personnel to help improve overall safety
- Performs safety orientation for all facility contractors
- Analyze organizational training needs and modify existing training programs or develop innovative new programs to meet the needs of our organization and employees.
- Arrange on-the-job training for new hires and conduct orientation sessions to familiarize new staff members with correct procedures and processes.
- Schedule continuing skill development and technical training classes for manufacturing and facilities employees. Stress the importance of continual growth and learning.
Qualifications and requirements:
- College degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred
- Experience with training curriculum creation
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong commitment to safety
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to effectively plan, prioritize and manage activities to meet deadlines and produce quality deliverables
- Proficient in basic computer applications such as MS Office programs
- A minimum of two years of experience working with EHS compliance and management systems preferably within manufacturing facility operations
- Familiarity with OSHA 29 CFR 1910, Federal, State and Local Safety, Health & Environmental Laws
