Warehouse Supervisor

 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor for an opportunity in Addison, Illinois

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Supervises staff and operations of the area of responsibility. Plans, assigns, and directs work to successfully complete assigned schedules. Trains employees, has input for hiring, discipline, termination, and performance appraisals. Addresses/troubleshoots problems/concerns in responsibility, escalating as necessary to supervisor/manager. Responsible for ensuring quality standards are maintained. Administrative tasks are expected to account for approximately 30% of time worked with the balance directly related to production activities.

  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders. Plans flow of materials and/or work through department and assigns duties to workers.
  • Plans, establishes and is accountable for work schedules or assignments to meet daily, weekly, and monthly goals. Ensures staff has reasonable workload and are meeting efficiency, utilization, and effectiveness expectations.
  • Inspects and measures output to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Ensures equipment and supplies needed are available and in calibration if required.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to reduce cost, improve output methods, equipment performance, and quality of work or product.
  • Analyzes and resolves problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Teaches new jobs and skills to workers.
  • Fills in for absent staff as necessary to ensure production goals are accomplished.
  • Interfaces and coordinates with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Assists in resolving employee complaints or grievances.
  • Ensures equipment required to perform work in assigned area is in working order and is available.
  • Ensures all CEF policies such as HAZMAT, Safety, and FOD prevention are understood and enforced.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Four-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, maintenance and work instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • At a minimum, ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Shop math may be additionally required depending on specific Lead Position (example Machine Shop Lead).
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Good working knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as a Document Control System.
  • System experience: Demand, Inventory, and Production management.
  • Strong PC skills: Solid understanding of spreadsheet applications.
  • Strong planning, organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, including presenting and facilitating team meetings.
  • Team player with high levels of professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally/geographically at all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to positively motivate individuals and teams to meet or exceed project expectations.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
