Production Scheduler
LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Valve Assembler for a first shift opportunity in Vernon Hils, Illinois.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the day-to-day production scheduling of specific manufacturing departments. This role includes monitoring key metrics, minimizing inventory, and developing continuous improvement strategies. Strong collaboration with Operations, Logistics, Sales and Customer Service are critical to meet goals.
- Create, review, and maintain production schedules for multiple departments.
- Provide accurate commitment dates to Sales and Customer Service. Maximize on time delivery.
- Review material shortages, stock outages, and safety stock levels while working with Purchasing and Manufacturing to meet customer requirements. Anticipate and mitigate shortages from external factors. Propose changes when needed.
- Assist in the resolution of MRP and planning discrepancies.
- Coordinate with customers to monitor and plan their product inventories. Translate customer orders into appropriate customer specific manufacturing orders.
- Drive all necessary actions across the organization in order to secure and retain applicable quality, productivity and delivery goals.
- Manage long-term relationships by providing face-to-face communication with employees and internal customers daily.
- Interface with the Operations team to manage materials and capacity constraints and adjust schedules when needed.
- Analyze data to identify and implement process improvements.
- Monitor actual output versus planned output. Identify gaps and drive improvement.
- Provide timely reporting of key metrics. Periodically re-assess existing metrics while developing new ones as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Pay: $18-23/HR DOE + OT Opportunities.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Candidate must be very skilled with Excel.
- Have a high attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Recent High School Grads will be considered.
- Experience working in an organization that has successfully used one or more continuous improvement methodologies (lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc.) preferred
- Six Sigma certification is a plus
- General knowledge of hydraulic products is a plus
- Ability to be flexible and able to handle multiple and varied tasks that contribute directly to the effectiveness and quality of the company and all employees
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Possess effective trouble shooting, problem solving and organizational skills
- Able to handle frequent interruptions, meet tight deadlines, work staggered shifts to cover for emergencies and handle conflict in an effective manner
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) a plus
