Mechanical Assembler - Level C

 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking an Mechanical Assembler for an opportunity in Addison, Illinois.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

This position is responsible for following procedures for product assembly, fabrication, test, equipment operation and safety requirements as documented in the company's quality system. He or she is responsible for assembling products, handling products, equipment and materials per the Production Department and company's quality system procedures.

  • Inspect, test, and adjust completed units to ensure that units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.
  • Assemble parts or units, and position, align, and fasten units to assemblies, subassemblies, or frames, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly.
  • Attach name plates and mark identifying information on parts.
  • Read blueprints and specifications to determine component parts and assembly sequences of units.
  • Disassemble units to replace parts or to crate them for shipping.
  • Measure parts to determine tolerances, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, and calipers.
  • Clean and lubricate parts and subassemblies, using grease paddles or oilcans.
  • Drill and spot-face bolt holes in parts, using drill presses and portable power drills.
  • Must be able to work overtime on a routine basis.

Pay:  $18-21/HR DOE

 

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 
  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Basic understanding of algebra.
  • Must be willing to perform other functions and duties as assigned by managers and supervisors.
  • Must be willing to work any shift.
  • Must be willing to work overtime (as requested).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
