CNC Machinist III

 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a CNC Machinist for a first shift opportuntiy in Lincolnshire, IL.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

CNC machinists work with computer numeric controlled (CNC) heavy machinery to setup materials and proper cutting tools, operation of machinery, and produce parts and tools from metal, plastic and a variety of materials meeting program designated shapes, cuts, and other requirements. A general machinist is a skilled craftsperson who sets up and operates precision metal cutting machines such as lathes, and Mills both CNC and Manual types.

  • Independently set up and operate all CNC machines
  • Operate machine/s while maintaining blueprint specifications
  • Perform stability study on gauges used
  • Load and edit programs as needed
  • Perform initial inspection when needed
  • Troubleshoot any issues
  • Assist CNC operators I and II as needed
  • Assist with process improvement tools, such as DOE
  • Maintain a clean work environment
  • Comply with all safety and sanitation regulations
  • Use all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required and instructed
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications and requirements:

  • 5+ years as a machine shop operator in a manufacturing facility
  • Performs basic setup operations
  • Performs CNC machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications requiring a high degree of skill.
  • Checks parts for conformance to specifications and records SPC (Statistical Process Control) data. May run more than one unit simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of geometric tolerance, trigonometry and mathematical formulas needed to calculate machining processes.
  • Quality conscious attitude and pride of ownership in designated responsibilities
  • Possess comprehensive reading skills
  • Possess mathematical skills necessary for industry skill set
  • Able to communicate effectively in writing and orally
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Must have a reasonably complete set of personal tools
  • HSD or GED.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and urinalysis.
