Process Quality Engineer

 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Quality Process Engineer for an opportunity in North Hills, CA.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

The Process Quality Engineer has overall accountability for development of manufacturing build instructions for production and research and development activities.  The Process Quality Engineer will also be responsible for supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions, material review and disposition, and system improvements.              

 

  • Generate manufacturing build instructions for existing product lines, including the final assembly of refrigerators, wine chillers, and water heaters
  • Develop new manufacturing build instructions for research and development products prior to launch into production
  • Support root cause investigation and analysis, both internal and external, implement and/or follow up on corrective actions related to processes, perform verification and ensure closure of CAR’s in a timely fashion.
  • Perform related documentation improvements, including work instructions, travelers, inspection plans, and related quality system procedures
  • Support material review and dispositions, including generation of internal corrective actions as necessary.
  • Support internal, customer, and third party audits, including the FAA and AS9100 registrar audits
  • Other duties assigned by the Quality Manager

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Must have five years’ experience as a Process Quality or Manufacturing Engineer in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Experience with AS9100 systems is mandatory.
  • Experience with FAA Repair Stations is a plus but not mandatory.
  • A degree in engineering is preferred; however, equivalent technical experience is an acceptable alternative. 
  • Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing required.
  • Knowledge of standard mechanical gages such as calipers, height gages, verniers
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis tools and techniques such as 5-Why’s, 8D’s, fishbone, PFMEA’s, etc.
  • Knowledge of personal computer and standard Microsoft Office software, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.
