CNC Programmer
LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a CNC Programmer for an opportunity in Tullahoma, TN.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
CNC programmer developing the computer numerically controlled programs to be used in machines capable of machining steel and titanium aircraft landing gear components.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Create the instructions for machinists
- Review CAD design drawings
- Makes calculations for programming including where material is cut
- Translates manufacturing instructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program
- Communicates with engineers and clients who will use the programs
- Checks completed programs by running simulations or tests
- Prepares geometric layout of designs using proper software
- Determines sequence of operations in a programChooses cutting tools that will be needed
- Analyzes job order and performs necessary calculations
- Writes CNC programs and modifies existing ones for increased efficiency
- Analyzes and selects speeds and cutting tools for programs
- Makes improvements to setup times for a task and contouring of complex shapes
- Simplifies tooling time for workers and increases productivity
- Evaluates all complete designs to validate their functions and ensure they successfully reduce time & money.
- Monitors all programs to make sure they follow blueprint instructions and safely and successfully complete the task.
- Complies with all safety rules and regulations
Education and/or Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of CNC programming as it pertains to manufacturing experience in a metal cutting environment involving machining,drilling, milling, ID/OD grinding, boring, and plating.

- Vericut Version 7.2.3
- Machining familiarity
- CNC manufacturing
- Engineering drawing Interpretation/reading
- Part Manufacturing methodology
- MRP logisitics
- Developing Post Processors (SIMPRO, ICAM, or equivalent)
- Ability to interpret Customer and Engineering specifications/requirements
- Understanding of Tooling geometry and material
- Machining Aermet, 300M, and Titanium materials
- Programming using part probing software (Renishaw)
- Good verbal and written skills
- Willing to work Overtime
- Meetings with shop floor workers to gain understanding of manufacturing component parts
- Good understanding of Tooling and Fixture concepts pertaining to manufacturing
