School Bus Technician

Xenia, OH

Equipment: All of our buses are 2007+, Internationals, Thomas and company pickup trucks and box trucks

Pay: $18-$19 per hour, depending on experience

Shift: M-F 1st Shift 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM

School Bus Technician Duties and Responsibilities:

• Routine and preventative maintenance on school buses
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs;
• Steering, electrical, cooling, brake systems, air brakes, warranty procedures, clutches, drive trains, suspension, gas regulating components, transmissions, etc.
• Ensures proper work methods and techniques
• Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State/Provincial and local regulations, requirements, standards and specifications and company policies.
• Maintain a safe, clean and productive work area
• Performs assigned vehicle and facility maintenance related duties (e.g. vehicle washing, cleaning, fueling, oil changes, lubrication, light vehicle repair etc.) in a safe and timely manner.
• Arranges for and obtains appropriate inspections and approval of all repairs before vehicle is released from maintenance facility.
• Records time spent, parts used and repairs and/or maintenance conducted on the appropriate form.
• Other duties may be assigned

School Bus Technician Qualifications and Requirements:

• Minimum of 3+ years of related diesel experience.
• Must possess CDL B.
• Must have own tools
• Must have steel toe boots
• Must have high school diploma or GED Equivalent
• Must be able to pass FMCSA DOT Drug Screen
• Must be able to pass DOT Physical
• Must be able to pass EMP Check
• Must be able to pass CRIM / DMV Checks
