Structural Systems Engineer
LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Structural Systems Engineer for an opportunity in Lombard, IL.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Engineering position supporting the Aircraft Engineering team. Focus on installation development of the Connectivity system on Commercial Aircraft, including system interface development, equipment placement and all certification aspects pertaining to the installation design and certification. The position will also support sustaining current installations and designs for the customer base making minor and major changes to existing documentation to support system upgrades and modifications.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, with a structural background including, but not limited to, Stress Fatigue and Static Strength Analysis and Composite structure design and repair
- Minimum Three (3) years’ experience in the airline industry
- Knowledgeable background in aircraft mechanical design (metallic and composite)
- Background in field repair for structural damage a plus
- Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) governing aircraft certification and maintenance
- Airbus/Embraer experience preferred but not required
- Flexible work schedule, may require shift, weekend, and/or holidays
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
- Pass a ten (10) year background check, pre-employment drug test, and criminal history records check (CHRC)
- Legally eligible to work in the USA
