Senior Certification Engineer
LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Senior Certification Engineer for an opportunity in Nagoya, Japan.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The main duties and responsibilities of a successful candidate will include having overall responsibility for the planning of the required flight/ground test phases, working with the flight/ground test instrumentation engineers, preparing the maneuver-by-maneuver plan for each test flight or test on ground and develop/review test plans, test specifications and test reports. Additionally, qualified candidates will be able to provide assurance of successful compliance with relevant regulatory requirements in the Type Certification Application and approval processes with regard to fire extinguishing and smoke detection. Work in a multi-cultural team and an international working environment in Japan. Japanese Language skill is not required.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 15 years of aviation related industry experience, or
- 15-20 years in an aviation engineering organization; Aerospace or Aircraft Systems Engineering
- Must have a minimum 5 years of experience in the creation of certification plans and the effective execution of certification projects, including conducting all necessary liaisons with authorities and legislative bodies
- Must possess excellent writing and verbal skills, including strong technical writing skills to plan, develop and create Flight/Ground Test Plans, Test Specifications and Test Procedures
- Ability to liaise with test engineers regarding test procedures and test conduct, witness the testing and generate test reports
- Ability to conduct technical study/analysis on fluid dynamics and heat transfer technology
- Ability to identify potential issues in the course of Type Certification approval process
- Analytical thinker who is tenacious, resilient, dynamic and outgoing
- Willingness to travel to flight/ground test sites mainly in USA when required is essential
- Experience working in a Japanese speaking environment is desirable
- Must be a team player who can work in a team environment and coordinate with other engineers from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- Ability to adapt successfully to changing situations and environments
- Must perform other related duties as required
