Senior Certification Engineer 

 

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Senior Certification Engineer for an opportunity in Nagoya, Japan. 

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The main duties and responsibilities of a successful candidate will include having overall responsibility for the planning of the required flight/ground test phases, working with the flight/ground test operation engineers and preparing the maneuver-by-maneuver plan for each test flight or test on ground and develop/review test plans, test specifications and test reports specializing in the evaluation of environmental temperature effects on aircraft equipment as well as aircraft structures. Additionally, qualified candidates will be able to provide assurance of successful compliance with relevant regulatory requirements in the Type Certification Application and approval processes. Work in a multi-cultural team and an international working environment in Japan. Japanese Language skill is not required. 

 

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 10-20 years of aviation related industry experience, or
  • 15-20 years in an aviation engineering organization; Aerospace or Aircraft Systems Engineering
  • Must have a minimum 10 years of experience in the creation of certification plans and the effective execution of certification projects 
  • Must possess excellent wiring and verbal skills, including strong technical writing skills to plan, develop and create Flight/Ground Test Plans and Flight/Ground Test Procedures
  • Prior experience planning flight and ground tests/exercises regarding the evaluation of environmental temperature effects on aircraft equipment as well as aircraft structures is essential
  • Must possess basic knowledge of thermal hydraulics
  • Ability to work effectively with other engineers across divisions and departments in the process of developing and creating test plans and certification documents
  • Must possess ability to develop, plan and implement short and long-term goals
  • Ability to adapt successfully to changing situations and environments
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to flight test sites in USA when required is essential
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Must perform other related duties as required
