Senior Certification Engineer
LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Senior Certification Engineer for an opportunity in Nagoya, Japan.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The main duties and responsibilities of a successful candidate will be related to Ignition Source Minimization of equipment for fire prevention. This will include interfacing with all other aircraft function and engineering teams to coordinate and obtain the approval of any task assigned contributing to the aircraft Ignition Source Minimization and Certification. Additionally, a successful canidiate will be able to manage the technical contract requirements with applicable equipment suppliers and other interfacing suppliers as appropriate. Work in a multi-cultural team and an international working environment in Japan. Japanese Language skill is not required.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 10 years of aviation related industry experience, or
- 10-15 years in an aviation engineering organization; Aerospace or Aircraft Systems Engineering
- Ability to review and approve the compliance checklists produced by each ATA team with attention to detail and instruct each team based on the review result in order to complete the certification documents
- Ability to produce Certification related documents such test specifications in a timely and accurate manner
- Must possess good knowledge of aircraft equipment and fire protection system
- Must possess strong technical knowledge of ignition source issues
- Ability to produce a large volume of technical documents regarding fire protection requirements, especially ignition source minimization in order to provide assurance of successful showing of compliance with relevant regulatory requirements in the Type Certification activity process in a timely and accurate manner
- Ability to identify potential issues and find solutions in the course of Type Certification application and approval processes
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Must be a team player who can work in a team environment and coordinate with other engineers from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- Must possess ability to develop, plan and implement short and long-term goals
- Ability to adapt successfully to changing situations and environments
- Must perform other related duties as required
